Hockey finished the sweep on Saturday in dominating fashion, jumping out to a 5-0 lead before conceding a couple of late meaningless PP goals. The team defense seemed a lot better against Fairbanks than it did against Western, although that's partially due to a slew of UAF opportunities that never turned into shots on goal.

Michigan got a lot of pretty plays to score, starting with Jeff Tambellini speeding past a Bronco defender and faking like he was about to cut across the net before tucking the puck past Wylie Rogers--who had vacated the near post by a couple inches--on the short side. Jason Ryznar also had a superb pass that led to this:

Which is going to be the easiest goal of David Rohlf's career.

A good game to finish off a series of lesser opponents in preparation for the toughest remaining test of the regular season, a pair at OSU. Michigan has a five point lead on the Buckeyes and can salt away the CCHA regular season championship with a sweep or even a split. There doesn't appear to be any TV for the Friday game, but the Saturday one is on CSTV.

The Saturday game is also being Simulcast on INHD, the cable High Definition channel.
