Wisconsin Coach Barry Alvarez will very probably announce his retirement at 1 PM today. He'll remain AD. Defensive Coordinator Brett Bielema is expected to be Wisconsin's next coach.
Shocking timing on this. You'd think that something like this would happen soon after Signing Day. Bielema produced an excellent defense last year but it remains to be seen whether he can duplicate his success with an almost all-new defense.
Update: Alvarez has announced his retirement... after this year. One more go-around for Alvarez, although it doesn't exactly look like it will be a banner year.
